NATPA of NE rules for Division III
Div. III (Antique & Classic combined) 1957 and older
Drivers must be 14 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental/guardian permission.
Drivers must stay on the seat of the tractor at all times. Hands must be on the steering wheel, hand brakes, hand clutch, or throttle at all times during the pull.
Any tractor or puller found to be unsafe or illegal may be disqualified or barred from hooking. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted.
Any part falling off the tractor after being hooked and until the tractor is unhooked will result in disqualification.
Contact point of tractor and sled must remain in bounds at all times. Out of bounds will result in disqualification. No measurement will be taken after a disqualification.
Wheelie bars are required. Wheelie bars to hold the weight of the tractor in its heaviest weight class. Stabilizer bars will be checked by jacking them up one side at a time. It is recommended that wheelie bars not be attached to the draw bar. Wheelie bars must be a minimum length, the front edge of the stabilizer pad can be no further forward than the rear most portion of the tire. The pads must not be more than 10" off the ground, and must be a minimum of 5"x 5"x ¼ ", and a minimum of 20" from the outside of one pad to the outside of the other pad. Stabilizer bars can be made adjustable as long as you use grade 5, ½ " pin or bolt minimum. The cross bar on the wheelie bars must not be in contact with hitch chain to the sled (should be below hitch chain to the sled). All tractors must have a working safety kill switch.
Any tractor can qualify in a maximum of (2) classes. One hook per class.
Draw bars must not exceed 20 inches in height or be less than 18 inches from center of axle to hooking point. No part of draw bar may extend rearward beyond point of hook. Draw bars must be stationary in all directions. No clevises.
Weights - Suitcase weights and custom made weight brackets are permitted, front weight bracket and weights to extend no farther than 11 feet from center of rear axle. Weights may not extend behind rear wheels. Stops on the ends of the weight brackets no closer than 4 " to the rear wheel. All weights will be secured to tractor using 1" straps with ratchet type fasteners, pinned or bolted.
No radial tires. No steel wheels. Two wheel drive only. No duals. Any cut allowed on tires.
Tire size: Classes 3500-8500# - max 18.4 X 38; any rim width.
Tractors must be naturally aspirated. No turbos or blowers - except Oliver 99GM, etc.
Gas, diesel or LP fuels only. No alcohol or nitrous oxide fuels may be used in tractors. Gas is allowed a maximum of 750 specific gravity. All tractors are subject to random fuel checks. Tractors manufactured to use diesel fuel only cannot be converted to gas or LP.
Rpm’s allowed will be determined by the Nebraska test chart. Any tractor not listed will use manufacturer’s data. A 10% margin of error will be permitted. All tractors to have positive throttle stops. All JD A’s will run according to the JD spec sheet to match the JD G (ie:1227).
Tractors must have the stock engine, frames, transmission, rear end and axle housings or manufacturer’s replacement. Stock heads and their replacements are to remain unchanged in outside appearance. No 7 bolt main blocks in Olivers; no (12) port heads; no 99 heads; no 1600 series heads. AC - WC/WD/WD45 can use D-17 engine; IH - H, 350; M, 450. JD - A/B/G can use power blocks. No M-M 800 heads or blocks. Dual exhaust not allowed except after stock manifold.
Oliver 88, Farmall M, Massey 44, MM-U, JD-G, Case-C/D, JD-A 1940 and up and like size tractors are not allowed in classes below 4500#. Massey 33, Oliver 77, JD-A 1939 and down and like size tractors are not allowed in classes below 4000#.
Enhanced electrical systems permitted in all classes. No rev limiters allowed.
Replacement carburetors with no modification of carburetor or manifold. Overhang of carburetor to manifold is not allowed. Only stock appearing manifolds are allowed.
Any gear, speed limit is 3.5 MPH, to be checked by radar. No shifting of TA’s. One beep after flag/cone will result in disqualification. The marker for Div III speed will also be used as the mark to stop the tractor if driver wishes to restart pull.
No increased height in any tractors (ie: deck plates, shims, girdles) except for stock gasket.
There is no allowance on weight for any class in any Division. Weight of class is maximum weight allowed.
A finish line must be used at all events. If a tractor exceeds this distance this constitutes a full pull and a measurement will be taken.
